EWING TWP., N.J. (WPVI) — Police in Ewing Township have charged three suspects in connection with an incident at a Wendy’s restaurant last weekend.
It happened on Feb. 21 at the Wendy’s on the 1700 block of Olden Avenue. Officers responded after customers became disorderly and broke a drive-thru window, police said.
The suspects have been identified as 23-year-old Honesty Harrison, 18-year-old Saniyah Brittingham and 19-year-old Leah Williford Stevens, all of Trenton.
According to investigators, the trio damaged property inside the restaurant and attempted to assault employees with various items just before 3 a.m.
Police did not say what might have sparked this confrontation, but the suspects were gone before they arrived.
Video of a violent outburst that’s now part of a police investigation is drawing strong reactions in the community.
“This is not something that should be happening,” said Dawn Hemsey of Ewing Twp., NJ.”I’ve never seen a video with such violence and destruction in my life.
“I kinda get depressed about just saying young people do that,” added Rupert Johnson of Lawrence, NJ.
Brittingham and Williford Stevens are facing charges of burglary, criminal mischief and unlawful possession of a weapon. Harrison is facing charges of criminal mischief and burglary.
Police say Brittingham and Harrison turned themselves in on Friday.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Williford Stevens is asked to contact the Ewing Police Department at (609) 8821313 or the Ewing Police Tip Line at (609) 8827530.
