We’ve finally reached the peak of awards season (or, Awards Season,™ if you’re Moira Rose). Last night’s 2026 Oscars show, hosted by Conan O’Brien, was filled with laughs, a few tears, and a suite of worthy winners. But to us (and maybe a you, if you’re reading this story) the real show was the night’s red carpet. It’s an age-old tradition that celebrities spend all of Sunday preparing for the Oscars—whether they are attending the show or just one of the many parties hosted by the likes of Elton John and Vanity Fair—and the hard work of glam teams across the city paid off.
Spring’s biggest beauty trends have taken the spotlight leading up to the 98th Academy Awards, from blurred lips to forehead curls. Tonight, we saw those major moments continue on, with an added dash of romantic, architectural updos and loose waves, chocolate nails, and an interesting take on method beauty.
While the big trends of the night are exciting, we also want to highlight the small beauty details. Take Audrey Nuna’s “Golden” sculptural nails, best original screenplay winner Ryan Coogler’s Sinners-inspired braid designs, and One Battle After Another co-stars Chase Infiniti and Teyana Taylor’s respective outfit-coordinating elements, lilac eyeshadow and a white chrome manicure.
Below, we highlight our favorite small beauty details from the night. You may have missed them in the red carpet mayhem, but each of them is worth a closer look.
