The Complete Guide to Parties and Events

The end of awards season is near, and it’s time to go out with a bang.

Oscars week always brings a jam-packed schedule of events and this year is no different. In the lead-up to Hollywood’s biggest night on March 15, there are plenty of happenings each day, from lunches and cocktail parties to galas and (if you can believe it) more awards. And on Oscar Sunday, once the statues have finally been handed out, there are plenty of options to let loose — with or without a win.

Mainstays like Vanity Fair, Elton John, MPTF, Chanel and Charles Finch, Giorgio Armani and Women in Film are once again on the scene, plus a couple of new additions. Here’s the rundown on events intel so far, with updates to come.

Saturday, March 7

Unforgettable Awards
Fairmont Century Plaza

Writers Guild Awards (New York Ceremony only)

Though the WGA usually puts on simultaneous ceremonies on both coasts, the Los Angeles event has been scrapped as the Writers Guild of America West’s own staff is on strike. The show will still carry in NYC, courtesy of the Writers Guild of America East.

Patton Oswalt returns to host the Motion Picture Sound Editors’ annual event, where Kathleen Kennedy will receive the Filmmaker Award and supervising sound editor Mark Mangini, MPSE will receive the Career Achievement Award.
