Spigen celebrates Apple’s 50th with retro Mac-inspired accessories

Spigen has built a strong reputation for making some high-quality Apple accessories that also scratch that nostalgic itch. Their C1 Collection, which resembles the famous transparent iMac G3 from the early 2000s, is one of my favorite accessories from any brand ever. They then followed that up with the Classic LS iPhone case, which pulls inspiration from iconic Apple products like the original Macintosh 128K and the Apple Lisa. And now Spigen has doubled down on that design by releasing two new accessories for the Classic LS line: the Classic LS Wallet and the Classic LS AirPods Pro case. These will be the ultimate conversation starters. Here is what you need to know.

The LS wallet is one of those accessories that immediately stand out because of its look. The amount of detail that went into designing this wallet is insane. It literally looks like I can input a floppy disc into here (comment below if you remember what that even is). If you grew up in this era of Apple, then you will see so many Easter eggs: from the beige color to the cursive Hello to the Apple rainbow colors. It not only looks like a museum piece, but it’s also a MagSafe wallet. You get:

  • Retro Mac-inspired design down to the line patterns and textures
  • Floppy disk-style accents and Apple-ified Spigen logo
  • Fits 3-4 cards in the wallet with easy push up accesses to get whichever card you need

Spigen really knocked it out of the park with this one. Everything looks like it came from something that was built 50 years ago, but remains very high quality and will last you for another 50 years.

Now this one is the show stopper. Spigen got really creative with this one. They basically made an AirPods Pro case that looks identical to the original Macintosh Mouse. It is clear they put some thought into this because they made it so some of the accent pieces actually have a function. For example, the mouse clicker actually acts like a lock to make sure the AirPods stay closed when not in use. Another nice touch is that the LED indicator was positioned to act as if it is the on light of the mouse. You get:

  • Macintosh Mouse-inspired design
  • Precise cutouts for everything you need
  • Locking mechanism
  • Still works and charges wirelessly
  • includes a lanyard for easy carry

My biggest fear was that the case would be too thick to allow for wireless charging, but it turns out it still is able to charge and magnetically align with no issues.

Hands-on experience

I think Spigen nailed that middle ground between actual function, usability, but also retro look and nostalgia. If you pull out your AirPods or your wallet, someone will 100% be asking you about these. These accessories were thoughtfully designed to make sure they paid homage to the old Apple tech of years past to celebrate 50 years. The wallet’s magnetic strength is phenomal and you can feel confident that your cards will fit snugly in the wallet. The cards do not get stuck, and they also do not fall out if you only have one or two cards. So this accessory looks great but is also practical.

The same can be said about the AirPods case. You get this really cool piece of history while also protecting your AirPods. The locking mechanism that doubles as an actual mouse clicker was genius. It is both a fidget toy and also makes sure that if you crop your AriPods case, your Airpdos wont go flying all over the place. The material for both also feels premium but protective, so you know it will survive plenty of falls, scuffs, and scratches. The included lanyard is also great. They left plenty of room for those who like to charge their AirPods with a cable for faster charging, but, as I stated above, the MagSafe wireless charging also works great.

Pricing and availability

As I mentioned, there are four total products for the Classic LS collection. You have the Classic LS iPhone case for $39.99, the Classic LS AirPods Pro 3 case for $24.99, the Classic LS MagFit wallet for $29.99, and the Classic LS wrist lanyard for $19.99. You can get them all on Amazon, and they even sell them in bundles if you want to save money by getting more than just one. The iPhone case is only for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, and they only make the AirPods case for the AirPods Pro 3 as of now. AirPods Pro 3 are on sale for just $209! Then, of course, the Magsafe wallet will work with any iPhone that supports Magsafe!

Final thoughts

Spigen continues to create unique accessories that scratch the nostalgic itch that more and more people seem to want. The accessories are well-priced, made extremely well, and are just a breath of fresh air. It feels like accessories these days are looking more and more the same, so when a brand comes out with something unique like this, it’s always fun to test out and use. If you are in the market for some new accessories for your Apple ecosystem or you have to buy a gift for an Apple user, these are no-brainers! Let me know what you think. Would you use these?
