These are not the only changes, as Lenovo also promises a better repairability, which includes modular USB-C charging ports as well as an internal battery that can be removed by pushing two small release buttons. Additionally, components like the SSD and 5G card are still modular as well, and the keyboard remains easily user replaceable. Lenovo also promises that the bottom cover is easier to remove than before.
The biggest change is the battery for the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 7: Lenovo increases the battery capacity, from a maximum of 57 Wh on last years T14 Gen 6 (available on Amazon) to 75 Wh on the 14-inch new model. The same maximum capacity also applies to the bigger T16 Gen 5, which is a step down for the bigger 16-inch model (T16 Gen 4: 86 Wh).
In terms of ports, there is little difference, as both models retain their legacy ports, which still includes RJ45-Ethernet, HDMI and two USB-A ports, and two Thunderbolt 4 connectors. When it comes to screens, Lenovo largely continues with last year’s offerings, although there is a new 2.8K OLED option on the 16-inch model.

The new standard models of the ThinkPad T series will be available in April, starting at €1,400 (T14) and €1,500 (T16) in Europe respectively.
