What comes to mind when you think of Mark Zuckerberg and fashion? His L.A.-bro-aesthetic rebrand? How much he appreciated Lauren Sánchez’s corset at Donald Trump’s inauguration? Perhaps his bedazzled Benson Boone cosplay suit? Well, now he’s added another sartorial accomplishment to his long and impressive list: sitting front row at Milan Fashion Week.
On Thursday, Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, attended the Prada show in Milan. Flanked by a gaggle of security guards, publicists, and Anna Wintour, the two were seen arriving late and being ushered to their seats. They appeared to be decked out in head-to-toe Prada and were, by technocrat standards, attempting to look chic. It’s unclear why Zuckerberg decided to show up here specifically, but it probably has something to do with the brand’s deal with Meta to collaborate on a new line of smart glasses.
Videos of Zuckerberg’s big Prada moment immediately circulated online, most of which show him sitting stiffly upright in a brown button-up and slacks. Needless to say, the fashion heads are not thrilled. “Do you think Zuck gives a shit… or understands the myriad of references pulled by Mrs. Prada to design this collection. It’s not the fact that he’s another billionaire buying his way into fashion,” Mandy Lee, a fashion commentator, wrote on her Instagram Story. “It’s the fact that he’s a swagless fucking loser.” “I have to give it to him, he is true to himself,” nightlife darling Terence Edgerson wrote under one video. “Looking sloppy in Prada is a hard feat that I didn’t think anyone could achieve but he does it so effortlessly. A mess.” Another commenter put it more simply. “Miuccia!! Stand up girl!!!”
