Lower Paxton Township supervisors chose a new chair on Tuesday night.
Pamela Thompson resigned from that position last week. The board’s vice chair, John Campbell was elected as chair.
Kate Scheib was elected vice chair and will also hold onto her position as treasurer. Robin Lindsey will remain secretary and Charles Stuart will remain assistant secretary/treasurer. Thompson will remain a supervisor on the board.
Last week, supervisors approved Thompson’s resignation and unanimously approved a resolution censuring her recent comments about being “under surveillance.”
At the end of a Feb. 3 township meeting, Thompson said, “A number of you all have been asking me what’s going on with the fact that I have been under surveillance.” She also said she planned to start a GoFundMe campaign.
“I don’t feel like I should have been put in this position at all. And I definitely don’t want to have to foot the bill for something that put me in this kind of position,” Thompson said.

During the Feb. 10 meeting, the Lower Paxton Township board unanimously approved Resolution 2026-07, which “formally censured” Thompson’s statements made during the Feb. 3 meeting.
“Supervisor Thompson made statements in a setting closely connected to her official role as Chair of the board that were unprofessional and a misuse of her position in connection with an implied self-serving fundraising request,” the resolution said.
Campbell, Scheib and Stuart were first elected to the board in November.
Lindsey was elected to the board in November as well and had previously served as a supervisor and as chair before resigning in February 2025.
Campbell, Scheib, Stuart, and Lindsey defeated four supervisors in November who were appointed to the board after four previous supervisors, including Lindsey, resigned between December 2024 and March 2025.
Thompson was elected to the board in 2023.
