Lenovo Asks Partners To “Place Orders As Soon As Possible” Before Implementing A Price Hike Next Month

Lenovo urges its partners to place the orders as quickly as possible if they don’t want to order at higher prices in the next month.

More vendors are now announcing price hikes for their products. Lenovo, which is the largest PC OEM is also about to revise its pricing very soon, and it looks like the new pricing strategy will also be affected by the timeline. Unlike how one would assume, the price hikes may not just affect the orders placed within the mentioned time frame, but could also be influenced by the shipment date.

CRN reports that Lenovo has set a timeline for its partners to place orders to avoid the upcoming price hikes. Lenovo’s North America Channel Chief, Wade McFarland, has urged Lenovo’s partners to place orders “as soon as possible” to avoid the new pricing update for select commercial products in the IDG (Intelligent Devices Group) portfolio, comprised of PCs, tablets, and smartphones. The new ordering and pricing strategy comes as a result of high DRAM prices, which are reportedly impacting both Lenovo’s IDG and the ISG (Infrastructure Solutions Group)

Orders received by Lenovo before Feb. 28, 2026, but not shipped by March 31, 2026, will need to be repriced.

However, as you can see, the new prices may take effect even if the orders are received by February 28, but not shipped by March 31. Therefore, for Lenovo partners, the timing of orders will be highly crucial, and they are encouraged to order by February 25 to remain on the safer side to ensure the distributors can submit the orders to Lenovo by February 28. Lenovo’s NA president, Ryan McCurdy, said, “We’ve absolutely had to adjust and continue to adjust. There’s no way around it”, making things difficult for Lenovo’s partners.

The CEO of one of Lenovo’s major partners, who requested anonymity, expressed concerns over the new pricing and ordering policy, saying, “They’re (Lenovo) saying, ‘We’ll take your order, but we might not be able to ship it, and if we can’t ship it, we are going to reprice it”. That said, the company’s North America channel chief outlined that price quote windows will now be limited to 14 days on Lenovo’s internal bidding platform and 30 days on its external platform, which is used by all resellers, including distributors and solution providers. Additionally, the ISG unit has begun repricing select deals, as confirmed by its North America channel chief.
