Kelly Clarkson Is Still Raging Mad At ‘American Idol’ For Allegedly Pulling 1 Slimy Stunt

It seems like there’s a lot of resentment behind those hazel eyes.

On Tuesday’s episode of her daytime talk show, Kelly Clarkson let out a whole lot of pent-up rage that she’s been holding on to for over 20 years when she claimed that “American Idol” never gave her any of the prizes she was promised for winning the long-running reality competition show.

HuffPost has reached out to “American Idol” for comment, but did not receive an immediate response.

Clarkson was the show’s first winner in its inaugural season in 2002, and her successful career helped legitimize it. She said on Tuesday’s episode of her show that she was promised a new car and $1 million — and that she never got either of them.

Clarkson’s revelation was sparked while she was interviewing “The Traitors” winner Rob Rausch, who said he has yet to receive his impressive $220,800 prize pot.

Upon hearing Rausch’s remark that he hasn’t been able to cash in his pay day yet — Clarkson decided to rage against the pop star machine and got very, very spicy by telling him that she could “relate to this so hardcore.”

“They were like, ‘Oh, you win a million dollars or whatever, da da da,‘” she said. “No, you didn’t. They lied. You did not, no. It was like ‘a million dollars worth of investment in you. …’”

Upon hearing this allegedly shady tidbit that the money was invested into Clarkson rather than given to her directly, Rausch seemed stunned and said, “That’s crazy.”

“Wait — what?!” a shocked Daniel Radcliffe, who was also a guest on the show at the time, said in response to Clarkson’s “investment” detail.

“Yes!” Clarkson said.

“No!” Radcliffe exclaimed.

But the Grammy winner wasn’t quite done messily spilling the tea quite yet.

“And then they said you get a car. And I needed it, ’cause my car is bashed in and I couldn’t afford the deductible,” Clarkson said. “And — no! — I did not get a car!”

The “Because of You” singer then got really fired up thinking about “Idol” veteran Clay Aiken, who was the runner-up in Season 2 of the show.

“And then Clay Aiken, who didn’t win the second season, got a car!” Clarkson yelled before shooting up out of her chair and rallying at the audience. “And his mom!”

After the audience cheered on her outburst, Clarkson sat back down — but was still boiling over.

“I was like, what the fuck?!” Clarkson said, with the expletive bleeped out.

Clarkson added that when Aiken told her he and his mom both got cars from “Idol,” she recalled telling him, “I’m actually going to kick your ass right now.”

Radcliffe suggested there should be some “kind of system” that the first winner of a competition show should “retroactively get” whatever the “prizes” eventually become as the show gets bigger and hands out ritzier items and bigger checks.

“It was supposed to be the prize then, OK?!” Clarkson said.

It’s actually quite remarkable that Clarkson remembers that Aiken came in second during his season, however. Just last year, she had Aiken on her show and misidentified him as the Season 2 winner of “Idol,” forcing him to correct the record. Aiken lost to the actual winner of Season 2, Ruben Studdard — but the two are friends and often work together.

“So sorry, Ruben! I totally remember that,” Clarkson said in response, a bit embarrassed. “Look, I’m 42, bro. OK, like, I forgot.”

After Aiken spoke about how he totally got Clarkson’s confusion because he still works with Studdard.

“[You guys] are such a weird couple… but it still works,” Clarkson said.

“Because we look so much alike,” Aiken quipped.
