Hilary Duff is a duff-initely sad about her relationship with sister Haylie. She has confirmed that her song “We Don’t Talk” from her new album luck … or something is about her sister. “People ask me how you’re doing / I wanna say amazing / But the truth is that I don’t know,” she sings on the track. “What I always end up saying is how / We don’t talk.” “It’s definitely about my sister,” Duff told Good Morning America during a February 20 segment. “And just absolutely the most lonely part of my existence is not having my sister in my life at the moment.”
The origin of the sisters’ beef is currently still a mystery, whether it stems from politics, intra-family drama, or something unrelated. And Duff is still trying to keep parts of it private. Because of the public nature of the record, Duff says she “struggled” with including the song on her album. “I don’t know if she’ll hear it,” she said. “I don’t know how she’ll react to it. You know, it is a really personal part of my life that doesn’t get to stay personal. So I might as well say how it is for me, and that’s all I’m trying to do. I’m not trying to say anything bad. It’s literally just my experience. And that’s really all I feel like sharing.” Clearly, Duff is good at setting boundaries.
