Ford Bringing 3.0-liter Whipple Superchargers to V-8 Mustangs, F-150s

Ford knows that even customers who purchase their more powerful machinery are never quite satisfied with factory figures. In an effort to keep the Blue Oval faithful happy, the automaker has just rolled out its latest set of dealer-installed performance accessories. Developed in collaboration with the team at Whipple Superchargers, Ford Racing has just announced a pair of forced induction packages for the 2026 Ford F-150 and Ford Mustang models equipped with the 5.0-liter Coyote V-8. Here’s everything you need to know about the packages.

Starting with the Ford F-150, this new supercharger package includes a Gen 6 3.0L Whipple blower, a dual pass intercooler, and a bespoke calibration and handheld tuner for easy installation. Ford says that the package is good for a whopping 700 hp at 6500 rpm and 590 lb-ft atr 5000 rpm. That’s not quite Raptor R levels of performance, but it sure isn’t bad given the smaller displacement engine at play. The blower package itself will fit on both two- and four-wheel drive versions of the F-150, but it must be equipped with the single alternator layout. The package also fits on all current gen Ford F-150 models with the V-8 engine, but MY2026 products are not covered by a California Air Resources Board Executive Order number.

The Ford Mustang-based package is a bit more extreme than the pickup. Customers are treated to the same 3.0-liter supercharger, but the package also includes Ford Racing’s upgraded 92mm throttle body, Shelby GT500-sourced port fuel injectors, a dual pass intercooler, and colder spark plugs. The end result is an impressive 810 hp at 7500 rpm and 615 lb-ft at 4800 rpm. (If your Mustang is not equipped with the active exhaust system, you can slash 10 hp off that output rating.) Like the truck, this package is not CARB approved for 2026 models, but is accepted on earlier S650 machinery. It’s also important to note that this package is not compatible with Ford’s strut tower brace package, as the blower sits too high for clearance.

Both the Ford F-150 and Mustang GT supercharger kits are going to cost a pretty penny. The F-150 package lists for $10,250 on the Ford Racing website, whereas the Mustang package is slightly pricier, at $10,500. Given that the Mustang kit comes with more hardware upgrades and more horsepower, that seems like the right place to spend the money. That said, Ford is adamant that this package is perfect for the F-150 Lobo. Now that the Lightning nameplate is on hiatus until the REV arrives, it might be the right time to add some retro badging back into the Ford Racing store as well.
