Chinese FM responds to question of whether China will support Iran alongside Russia if the US attacks Iran

China is closely following the development of the situation in Iran. China consistently advocates for resolving issues through political and diplomatic means, and opposes the use or threat of force in international relations, said Chinese FM spokesperson Mao Ning at Thursday’s press briefing, in response to a question that if the US launches an attack on Iran, will China support Iran alongside Russia? 

Mao added that China supports the Iranian government and people in safeguarding the nation’s interests and legitimate rights. We hope that all parties will cherish peace, exercise restraint, and resolve differences through dialogue. China will continue to play its role as a responsible major country, said Mao.
