EXCLUSIVE: Blue Bloods alumna Bridget Moynahan is rounding out the series regular cast of Hulu’s upcoming Dan Fogelman series The Land, which is currently in production.
Created and written by Fogelman, The Land is set inside the world of the NFL and has a generational family component to it.
Chris Meloni leads the cast as the team’s head coach Danny. Moynahan is believed to be playing Belinda, Danny’s ex-wife.
Previously cast series regulars also include Sam Corlett and Tanner Zagarino, who play Danny’s sons, William H. Macy as the team owner Hank, Mandy Moore and Chloe Bennet as Hank’s daughters, and Chace Crawford as the team’s new General Manager.
“It’s about a football team, nominally the Cleveland Browns. It’s called The Land because that’s what people from Cleveland call it,” Macy told Deadline last month. “They’re brilliant scripts. They’re Shakespearean. It’s about football, but, oh, my lord, the plots are so profound, and I’m having the time of my life.”
The series, from 20th Television and Skydance Sports, is executive produced by Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal and Kevin Falls. Also executive producing are David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold and Jason T. Reed for Skydance Sports.
Moynahan is coming off her starring role as Erin Reagan opposite Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg on Blue Bloods for its 14-season run on CBS. She has reprised her role as a guest star on offshoot series Boston Blue opposite Wahlberg. Moynahan also recently reprised her role as Natasha, Carrie Bradshaw’s rival and Mr. Big’s wife on HBO Max’s Sex And The City followup And Just Like That…. She also starred in and produced the short film Swipe NYC opposite Richard Schiff and Lisa Edelstein. Moynahan is repped by WME, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
