Ben Affleck’s Loved Ones Are ‘Deeply Concerned’ That He’s Fallen Back Into Bad Habits
The Good Will Hunting star has been in the headlines a lot lately, from his latest work-related projects, divorce from on-and-off again partner Jennifer Lopez, and his ongoing co-parenting relationship with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
It seems that he’s been handling some stressors that have had a significant impact on his life, one of which is his and the pop singer’s ongoing struggle to find someone to buy their $52M joint mansion that they moved out of following their divorce. Others include all of the negative press he’s received due to his divorce, as well as his relationship to his first ex-wife and the mother of his three children.
Everything that’s been going on has reportedly caused him to pick up some bad habits, like chain-smoking cigarettes and being seen eating more fast food than usual.
“Whenever Ben is under pressure, he tends to fall back on comfort eating and endless caffeine, but this time it’s on another level,” a source close to the actor told OK Magazine. “Those close to him feel the habits have crept back in so strongly that they’re starting to define his day-to-day life, which is deeply concerning.”

Sources Claim Friends Are Allegedly Worried These Habits Could Affect His Sobriety
Not only are these habits, which many people tend to take on while under a lot of stress, concerning due to how they’re bad for Ben’s health, but according to insiders, they’re worried they’ll cause him to spiral into even scarier patterns.
Around 2018, the 53-year-old sought treatment as he was battling an addiction to alcohol, though that wasn’t the first time, as reports show he had also gone through rehab programs in the late 90s, 2001, and 2017. Now, he’s five years sober and proud of it, though he’s gone on the record to state that he wishes he could’ve gone through the process without being in the spotlight.
Though he’s been seemingly hanging in there, the Batman icon’s loved ones reportedly told the above publication that they’re wondering if his current use of cigarettes and fast food will end up pushing him back into drinking, leading to even more “self-destructive” habits.
For now, fans and loved ones are continuing to send their support and hoping he’ll start taking better care of himself in the future.
