Ex-FBI Agent Reveals Why Savannah Guthrie’s Interview Will Leave Her Mother’s Abductors ‘Terrified’

A former FBI agent has revealed that Savannah Guthrie‘s emotional interview will leave her mom’s suspected abductor “terrified,” as it brings back national attention to the case.

The “TODAY” show host broke down during the interview as she detailed the “unbearable” agony she and her family members have been going through in light of Nancy Guthrie‘s disappearance.

Sheriff Officer Chris Nanos has stated that investigations are still on and that they “have good evidence” with them, despite public outrage over how the department has handled the search.

Former FBI agent Jason Pack explained that Savannah’s moving interview with Hoda Kotb is sure to send a message of unease to her mom, Nancy Guthrie’s captors.

In a clip of the interview, a visibly shaken Savannah was moved to tears as she weighed in on the emotional toll the incident had had on her and her family.

This left Pack to suggest the abductor must be uneasy as it has managed to bring more eyeballs to the mysterious case.

“This interview doesn’t hurt the investigation. What it does is keep Nancy’s name in the news at the exact moment national attention starts to drift. The whole country has been praying for this family,” the expert told Page Six.

He continued, “Every time Savannah speaks, somebody sitting on information hopefully gets a little closer to picking up the phone.”

Ex-FBI Agent Says Nancy Guthrie’s Abductors ‘Have Been Scared For Two Months’

The 84-year-old matriarch has been missing since February 1 after she was absent from a church service.

Investigators stormed her Tucson, Arizona home in search of evidence that could help find her and retrieved some DNA samples that don’t belong to her.

An arrest is yet to be made, nor have law enforcement come up with any viable leads. However, that may not be for long.

According to the former FBI agent, Pack, Nancy’s abductor now has “the FBI, a million-dollar reward, and the entire country looking for them.”

“In my experience, suspects who have done something like this are usually terrified. They have been scared for two months,” he shared. “Every knock on the door. Every slow-moving car. They are waiting on that one tip that leads law enforcement straight to their doorstep and finally tells the world what happened to Miss Nancy.”

Expert Says Savannah Guthrie’s Interview Is What ‘Grief Looks Like’

The law enforcement expert then described Savannah as a “daughter who loves her mother.”

This has been evident in light of her mom’s disappearance, as she appeared in several social media videos pleading for anyone with information that can help in the case to come forward.

She also announced an increase in the reward fee from then $500,000 to $1 million.

“This isn’t necessarily a law-enforcement strategy,” Pack said of Savannah’s interview with Kotb. “This is what grief looks like.”

He continued, “It’s a family carrying something too heavy to hold alone, and a woman who decided she was done holding it in silence. Think about who she chose to sit down with. Hoda Kotb. Her friend. Her colleague. Someone she trusts with her life. Savannah didn’t walk into a press conference.”

“She walked into a safe space and let herself be human. That’s what grief looks like when it finally gets room to breathe,” the former FBI agent added.

In her chat with Kotb, Savannah explained that her family is going through “unbearable” agony in light of her mom’s disappearance.

The TV personality unsuccessfully fought back tears as she pleaded for her mom’s safe release.

“We are in agony. It is unbearable,” she said in a clip, per the New York Post. “And to think of what she went through, I wake up every night, in the middle of the night, every night, and in the darkness, I imagine her terror, and it is unthinkable.”

“She needs to come home now,” Savannah added.

In a previous social media post, Savannah and her two siblings shared that they’re still hopeful that someone out there with information about their mother would speak up.

“Someone knows something. It’s possible a member of this community has information that they do not even realize is significant. We hope people search their memories, especially around the key timelines of January 31 and the early morning hours of February 1, as well as the late evening of January 11,” they said in the statement.

“We desperately ask this community for renewed attention to our mom’s case – please consult camera footage, journal notes, text messages, observations, or conversations that in retrospect may hold significance,” the statement continued.

Savannah and her loved ones further noted that they won’t be able to grieve peacefully until Nancy is found: “Our focus is solely on finding her and bringing her home. We want to celebrate her beautiful and courageous life. But we cannot do that until she is brought to a final place of rest.”
