It appears that the PC version of Death Stranding 2 has been leaked online, two days before its official release. This isn’t a joke. For some bizarre reason, an unprotected build of the game was pushed out. And, to the surprise of no one, people are already sharing it via torrents.
While I won’t share any direct links to the torrent, I can provide some additional details about it. Death Stranding 2 PC is around 113GB in size. The torrent file has unprotected files, meaning that you can download and play the game right now.
For those wondering, Kojima Productions has not used the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as the first Death Stranding game did not use it either. So, in case you’re wondering, no. Kojima Productions will not add it in the last minute as Pearl Abyss did with Crimson Desert.
There is also already a crack for Death Stranding 2 PC. This crack is mainly for the Steam DRM. Although the game executable is unprotected, there is still the Steam DRM protection. So, you’ll have to use the crack to bypass it.
In a couple of hours, I will be able to confirm whether or not this is real or not. From what I’ve seen, though, this appears to be the real deal. This is an unfortunate leak for Kojima Productions. So, here is hoping that it won’t impact the game’s sales. Still, I really don’t know how this has happened. We don’t usually see this kind of leaks for triple-A PC games on Steam.
Again, I won’t provide any download links to the torrent file. If you share a download link in the comment section, it will be deleted. So, consider this your warning.
Earlier today, Sony revealed that the game will have Ray Tracing effects on PC. As Sony stated, Nixxes has used Ray Tracing to enhance the game’s reflections and ambient occlusion. When enabled, ray-traced reflections are applied to surfaces such as water and tar. On the other hand, ray-traced ambient occlusion applies ambient lighting effects to scenes, resulting in more realistic shadows in crevices, corners, and between objects.
The PC version will also have uncapped framerates and support for ultrawide monitors. Moreover, there will be support for the DualSense controller. Plus, you can expect support for pretty much all the PC upscalers. In other words, there will be support for NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS.
Sony will release Death Stranding 2 on PC on March 19th. The publisher has not provided us with a review code, so we won’t have a day-1 PC Performance Analysis. However, I’ve already pre-ordered it. Thus, I will most likely share my initial PC performance impressions when it comes out. Finally, you can find the official PC requirements here.
Stay tuned for more!
