WWE Star Shows Off Graphic Injury After AAA Rey De Reyes

WWE

A WWE star has shown off a graphic injury suffered during his main event title match at AAA Rey de Reyes on Saturday, March 14.

With Dominik Mysterio’s future in AAA, as well as AAA Mega Championship hanging in the balance, he took on number one contender El Hijo del Vikingo in the closing bout of the three match card in Puebla, Mexico.

Unlike their previous encounter back in September, where Mysterio dethroned Vikingo, last night’s match was No Disqualification, and as a result saw both stars utilise weaponry such as kendo sticks, steel chairs and trash cans.

It was in throwing a steel chair at Mysterio that Vikingo bloodied his opponent with a noticeable gash being visible on the former WWE Intercontinental Champion’s head.

Despite this, and Vikingo having the help of his El Ojo stablemates Dorian Roldan and Omos, it was “Dirty Dom” who came out on top in the end, pinning Vikingo following a Frog Splash.

After the dust settled on his win, Mysterio took to Twitter to share an image of his graphic head injury (see below) along with the defiant statement “#AndStill.”

What’s Next For Dominik Mysterio in AAA?

Mysterio’s win ensured that he will not only remain AAA Mega Champion, but also a member of the AAA roster going forward. But who awaits him as his next challenger for his championship?

Elsewhere at AAA Rey De Reyes, El Grande Americano defeated The Original El Grande Americano, Santos Escobar and La Parka to win the 2026 AAA Rey de Reyes tournament.

This win ensures that Americano will be next in line to challenge Mysterio for his title at a future, yet to be specified date.

Dominik Mysterio Plans Heading Into WrestleMania 42

But what plans do WWE have in store for The Judgment Day star heading into WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas on April 18-19?

After an untimely “cursing” from new WWE signing Danhausen on the March 2 episode of Monday Night Raw, Mysterio lost the Intercontinental Championship to long-time rival Penta – who had previously failed to win the IC Title on many occasions since debuting in WWE in January 2025.

The loss was largely in part to Mysterio’s Judgment Day stablemate Finn Balor, who prevented JD McDonagh from passing Mysterio the timekeeper’s hammer and using it as a weapon – an underhanded tactic he had utilised on many occasions in the past to retain his gold.

With Mysterio losing the title shortly after Balor’s interjection, the following week on WWE Raw Mysterio called out the Irishman and after a fracas between the two, McDonagh turned his back on Balor and he, Mysterio, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez attacked Finn four-on-one.

While there has not yet been an announcement regarding Mysterio or Balor’s WrestleMania 42 plans, many fans are anticipating that Finn’s removal from The Judgment Day is set to lead to a match in Las Vegas, whether Balor vs. Mysterio one-on-one, or Balor finding a tag team partner and taking on Dominik and McDonagh.
