Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner Reportedly ‘Feeling the Strain’ Amid Backlash Over His Arts Comments

Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner are reportedly going through a rough patch at the moment.

In a recent town hall with Variety & CNN, the Marty Supreme star, 30, proclaimed, “I don’t want to be working in ballet or opera, or you know, things where it’s like, ‘Hey, keep this thing alive,’ even though it’s like, no one cares about this anymore.”

The Golden Globe Award winner has since faced backlash for his comments about these traditional performing arts.

In the Tuesday, March 10 edition of Rob Shuter‘s Naughty But Nice Substack, a source alleged that “the relationship is definitely feeling the strain,” as “Timothée is under a lot of pressure right now and it’s spilling into his personal life.”

“A lot of people in the industry were shocked,” the source added. “Ballet and opera are deeply respected in that world.”

The source pointed out how “the Kardashian-Jenner family is used to backlash and public drama,” as “they’ve dealt with it their entire careers.” The Kylie Cosmetics founder, 28, is no stranger to scrutiny as she was just 9 years old when she first appeared on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

“Kylie knows how the media storm works,” the source continued. “But Timothée is taking it very personally.”

While the source claimed, “things are definitely tense,” they noted the couple — who began dating in 2023 — are “trying to work through it.”

The reality TV star has previously been a pillar of support for the Call Me by Your Name actor as he gushed over her in his acceptance speech at the Critics Choice Awards, saying, “Thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I couldn’t do this without you.”
