Honestly, this is good news. Mina the Hollower and Witchbrook could get release dates. I know Orbitals was in the partner Direct, but it could get a release date too. Rubato could use a launch trailer to build hype for that game coming in a few days. Would really appreciate Future Knight’s demo being on Switch. Even though I played it on Steam last year, My Little Puppy is slated to get a release date in Spring for consoles. And the last Indie World Showcase had a lot to love too that we haven’t seen updates on. There’s a lot to be interested in with this one. Hopefully I’m not eating my shoe after I say that because you never know how these showcases will go, but honestly, I’ve sort of been wondering where the indie games are at this year since it’s been quiet on that front.
Do we need an update on first party games? Sure, but honestly there’s plenty of exciting games right now in the first half of the year. Hopefully Mario Day gives us a nice first party games only Direct. Would be nice to have one of those without any pesky third party announcements, right? 😅 Right now though, 2026 is trending far better than 2024 and 2025 did with Mario Tennis, Pokopia, Resident Evil, and Pragmata leading a strong charge for big games. Let the little ones shine too!
