Motorola MA2 wireless Android Auto adapter will cost $40

After leaking in regulatory documents earlier this year, the Motorola MA2 wireless Android Auto adapter has quietly made its debut, with a much lower price point.

Motorola MA1 was the first wireless Android Auto adapter approved by Google, and it’s been a solid option. It originally launched for $90, but is available today for around $40 after numerous price cuts over the past few years.

A new version of the adapter, “Motorola MA2,” hit the FCC recently with two main changes to see. Firstly, the removal of its built-in cable, instead replaced with a USB-C port, as well as a physical switch on the side, but there’s a full redesign of the hardware here too.

And, now, it’s suddenly official.

The folks over at Android Authority spotted Motorola MA2 on the sidelines of MWC 2026, with the company apparently saying that the Android Auto dongle will launch in May in some regions, with a US launch sometime in Q3 2026. Meanwhile, the retail price for the dongle will be around $40, matching the lowered-over-time price of MA1.
