Cher and Gregg Allman’s son arrested on assault charges in New Hampshire

Police in Concord, New Hampshire, arrested the son of musicians Cher and Gregg Allman on assault charges.

In a brief statement, the Concord Police Department said that it responded to the St. Paul’s School a little before 7 Friday night after a caller reported an “unwanted guest.”

The police say that Elijah Allman, 49, of Malibu, California, has no known association with the college-preparatory, co-educational boarding school but was there “in the dining hall causing a disturbance and acting belligerently.”

Police arrested Allman and charged him with two counts of simple assault and a count each of criminal trespassing, criminal threatening, and disorderly conduct. He was processed and released on personal recognizance and will be arraigned at a later, unscheduled date.

Allman is the son of singer Cher and Gregg Allman, who along with his brother Duane Allman had founded the southern rock band the Allman Brothers Band, known for hits like “Whipping Post” and “Melissa.” Gregg Allman died in 2017.

Elijah Allman is a musician himself, having fronted a band called Deadsy.

20k customers were without power in Revere, Winthrop areas

Roughly 20,000 customers were without power during portions of Saturday afternoon.

National Grid, the electrical provider to certain areas of Massachusetts, reported roughly 20,000 customers were without power due to outages in the Winthrop and Revere areas at around 2:25 p.m. Saturday according to its live outage map. That map showed 10,753 customers without power in the Revere area and 9,261 customers without power in the Winthrop area.

Power was restored later that afternoon.

“National Grid is aware of an incident involving one of its cont
ractors that temporarily impacted service from the Revere substation,” Brendan Moss, a utility spokesman, told the Herald in an emailed statement at around 4:40 p.m. “Service has been restored to all affected customers. Safety is fundamental for National Grid and the incident remains under investigation.”

Milton water main break snarls I-93 traffi

A Milton water main break closed down Interstate 93 southbound and caused lane closures northbound.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation reported the closure at around 3 p.m. Saturday. The agency added that northbound lane closures are also happening at Exit 9. Just after 3:40 p.m. it said that the northbound lanes had all been opened and two southbound lanes had been opened.

The water main break occurred under the East Milton Square overpass and was clearly visible to a Herald photographer traveling under it on the Southeast Expressway.

Boston police arrest 2 in Dorchester targeted drug trafficking ops

Boston Police arrested two people following separate cocaine and crack cocaine trafficking investigations in the Edward Everett Square area of Dorchester.

Christopher Docanto, 33, of Dorchester, faces trafficking charges after police allegedly found during a warrant search in early February nearly 27 grams of crack cocaine in his apartment, along with common trafficking tools including a digital scale, plastic containers, and packaging materials.

One of two women present in his apartment at the time of the search, 21-year-old Rachel Lubanski, had an active warrant on drug charges and was also arrested. Police say his arrest followed an investigation that lasted months.

Following a separate investigation targeting the same area, Roni Batista Fonseca, 27, of Dorchester, was also arrested on drug charges. Police say that they found four individually packaged bags of cocaine on him during a physical search of him on Friday morning. A search of his apartment found no additional evidence, police say.

BPD responded to 206 incidents in the 24-hour period ending at 10 a.m. Friday, according to the department’s incident log. Those included two robberies, nine aggravated assaults, two residential burglaries, one stolen vehicle, and 17 incidents of miscellaneous larceny.

— Mark Picard, 93-95 Hyde Park Ave., Jamaica Plain. Possession of Class A drugs.

— David Verdieu, 164 Newland St., Malden. Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon against a person 60 years or older.

— Shawn Murdock, 20 Heritage Way, Burlington. Possession of Class B drugs.

— Shannon Shea, 113 Evans St., Dorchester. Possession of Class B drugs.

— Milagros Perez-DeValle 5 Toledo Terrace, Dorchester. Unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

— Mila Alim, 12 Montvale Ave., Woburn. Shoplifting more than $250.
