Find My is quietly one of the best things Apple has done in the last decade. It started with tracking your iPhone, expanded to the Mac and iPad, and eventually covered physical items with AirTags. Now that third-party accessories are adopting the standard, it is becoming a true platform that I think is highly underrated. The TopMade MagSafe Wallet integrates this technology directly with Find My. It removes the need for a separate AirTag bump while keeping your wallet trackable within the native Apple ecosystem.
MagSafe Monday: Every Monday, Bradley Chambers looks at the latest and greatest in the MagSafe and wireless charging industry to help you get the most out of your Apple devices that support wireless charging.
Find My integration and battery
The headline feature on this wallet is full Find My support. Unlike other wallets where you have to slide an AirTag into a dedicated pouch, the tracking tech is built right into the wallet. Once you pair it, you can view its real-time location on the map, play a sound if you left it someone around your house, and get “Left Behind” notifications if you walk away without it outside of your house.
Powering the tracker is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that is rated for up to six months on a single charge. What is interesting is that you don’t need a specific cable to top it up. The wallet itself charges wirelessly via MagSafe. It eliminates the need to keep spare coin cell batteries in your junk drawer.
Capacity and magnets
If you are a minimalist, this might not be for you. The TopMade wallet is designed for the person who wants to carry more, but also use MagSafe. It features four individual card slots but can hold a maximum of nine cards. This is great if you need to carry a credit card, work card, work ID, driver’s license, etc all at once. It also includes RFID blocking to keep your credit and debit safe from skimming attacks
Because nine cards add significant weight, the magnets have to be strong to hold. TopMade claims a force of 4,000g, which the company says is five times stronger than the official Apple wallet. In practice, this means it shouldn’t slide off your phone when you pull it out of your pocket.
Like many modern MagSafe accessories, it does double duty as a stand. The adjustable hinge moves from 15 to 170 degrees, supporting both portrait and landscape modes. This is perfect for keeping an eye on notifications at your desk or watching a movie on a plane.
Wrap up
Overall, the TopMade MagSafe Wallet is a utility beast and a great MagSafe wallet options. It is 0.67 inches thick, so it will add bulk to your carry, but the trade-off is plenty of card storage and native Find My tracking. If you are tired of losing your wallet or just need to carry more than three cards, this is a solid choice for a MagSafe wallet with Find My support..
