Snow totals in Boston and across Massachusetts from Blizzard of February 23, 2026

Heavy, wet snow fell rapidly across the Boston area as the Blizzard of 2026 caused widespread power outages. Southeastern Massachusetts was hit the hardest. Snow was falling there at a rate of four inches per hour at one point Monday.

Nearby Providence, Rhode Island set a new record with 37.9 inches. That beat the previous mark of 28.6 inches set during the historic Blizzard of 1978.

Boston had about 17 inches by Monday evening. This puts the city over 60″ for the season, the first above average snowfall season in four years.
