Still no word on rollback netcode either
There had been rumblings that Dead or Alive was not as dead as it seemed until recently, and that turned out to be correct.
Koei Tecmo announced Dead or Alive 6: Last Round as well as a new Dead or Alive project last week, and now we have a better idea as to what is and is not included in the upgraded title.
The Dead or Alive 6 website has been updated with new information regarding what can be carried over from the original release to Last Round this Summer.
As for what players can bring over with them, DLC costumes, game progression, most save data, and unlocked in-game items like costumes, glasses and hairstyles will be available.
There are a number of DLC from DOA6 that can’t be used in Last Round, however, including Premium Tickets and hair color changes, which apparently can’t be used at all in the new version.
The product page for Last Round also states that crossplay between different systems is not supported, and the game will be a digital release only.
Interestingly, there’s still no word on rollback netcode being added to Last Round, which is something that fans are asking for the most.
On top of that, an alleged email from Koei Tecmo support includes a bit more bad news for DOA fans.
In said supposed email, it is stated that Last Round will not be offered as an update nor as a discounted upgrade for standard Dead or Alive 6 owners.
According to KT support from an inquiry by @ranzzinza, it’s been confirmed that there will be no update DLC provided for #DOA6 to #DOA6LR. Additionally, Mai Shiranui and Kula Diamond will not be returning in LR and their DOA6 character DLC keys won’t carry over. pic.twitter.com/n92HIjG4Y6

The new version of the game will need to be purchased separately.
On top of this, the email claims that the SNK guest characters of Mai Shiranui and Kula Diamond are not returning in Last Round.
This appears to be backed up by the content guide that says the standard edition of DOA6: Last Round contains 29 characters while the original had 31 including Mai and Kula.
They will at least package in all of the other DLC characters that were released before.
Like the original, a Core Fighters version of Last Round is going to be available at launch containing Kasumi, Marie Rose, Honoka and NiCO as free characters.
Koei Tecmo stated in the reveal that Last Round is going to be updated with additional characters and costumes after launch while including new upgraded features over the original.
Dead or Alive 6: Last Round is scheduled to release on June 25, 2026 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
