Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will be shut down in April after Activision states it “did not meet our expectations with mobile-first players”

Activision Blizzard has announced that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, a spin off from the hugely popular battle royale, will be shutting down on 17th April.

This comes following previous changes to the ongoing support for the game, which included its removal from app stores in May 2025. With no new content added to the game since then, it seems the final death knell for the ill-fated shooter is almost here.

A statement posted on the Activision Support website reads: “Since then, we have made the final decision to take Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile offline. While we’re proud of the accomplishment in bringing Call of Duty: Warzone to mobile in an authentic way, it unfortunately did not meet our expectations with mobile-first players like it has with PC and console audiences.”

Guest accounts used to play Call of Duty Warzone Mobile will no longer be able to play the game when it shuts down. However, if you used an Activision account, you’ll obviously still be able to use that to play Call of Duty Mobile or Call of Duty on PC and consoles. If you’ve got any unspent CoD points lying around on Call of Duty Warzone Mobile, the FAQ section suggests spending them before the 17th as they’ll be unavailable to use after the servers shut down. Some unlockable content in Warzone mobile can be used in other versions of Warzone.

This game publicly launched shakily when compared to Call of Duty Mobile. According to Pocket Gamer, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile generated $1.4m in its first four days. Call of Duty Mobile made $4.2m in the same amount of time. Add that on top of recent falling play numbers for Call of Duty in general and you can glimpse at why the servers are being turned off.
